Hi everyone,

my forum is showing a hover caption of the topic that is viewed over the mouse.. In addition, somehow the forum embedding in the WordPress page removes the menu tab for the forum. Please go to AquariumJunkiesCanada.com/forum

To see what I am talking about.

Any other page loads fine, if I remove the forum it goes back to normal...changing a page makes that page with the same problem.

How do I fix this?

Thanks,

Stas.

These might be connected. I am not sure about the tooltip one as it actually echoes the browser title. but I think dealing with the missing menu one is the first thing to do.

This is actually caused by a combination of an old - very old - and outstanding WordPress bug and the way your theme might be building the navigation menus, For most users there is no problem as we have all kinds of code in there to try and work around things but with some WP themes these workarounds just fail.

There is, actually, a simple solution and it is the best way to beat the issue. If you go to the menu builder in the WP Admin you can replace the current automatically generated 'Forum' menu with a custom menu which just means you have to paste the URL into the little form. This will get you around the issue,

And when that is fixed up we can see if the tooltip has any bearing on this or is something else. I have to say I have never seen such a thing before so it might get interesting!

Good!

Changed as you said and now I see the menus but the hover caption is still there...

well it is not the iForum theme you are using there. That tooltip is displaying the title you have set for the browser title bar. have you changed that in the forum SEO settings? And if so, could you undo the changes to see if it goes away?

I think I took a wrong turn somewhere. When configuring the forum..

I just downloaded reboot and changed the theme(this forum is reboot there right? I like it) and I lost all theme aspect of the forum.. It's just plain text now 🙂

I have tons of work ahead of me here 🙂

Any ideas?

Yes it is Reboot we use here.

Seeing plain text and no CSS on your forum is normally something you come across when you make a mistake in the CSS i.e missing a closing bracket or something similar.

What was the process of installing Reboot exactly? Also have you made any changes to the themes CSS at all?

Also what happens if you re-enable the forum theme you were using before? Is everything then OK?

Hi,

It's wierd as now I do see the forum with reboot on my pc buy the mobile does not load the theme.

I did not touch any css in the forum.

Did change two backgrounds on WordPress...

Hede is the code I added:

body.page-id-423 {

                background-color: #d6f0ff !important;

}

body.page-id-400 {

                background-color: #002c70 !important;

}

Nothing besides that.

These are not the forum page ids by the way..

Installed by uploading the theme. Then using theme chooser to activate.. Also chose color... That's it..
