we know of very few themes that dont work with simple press... there is really very little interaction (other than giving us the page layout) between them...
If you just want a simple theme, take a look at the wp defaults... 2014 and 2016 are decent...

hi everyone,
thanks for the support!
i managed to remove the hover from the main forum page, BUT....
when i go into a forum, or see a post the hover comes back... super wierd..
what does the false in the SPtooltip do and should i leave this on false?
My forum : https://critterGuide.ca/cgforum
currently:
im using my old theme and all plugins are active and
if (!defined('SP_TOOLTIPS')) define('SP_TOOLTIPS', false);
no hover.
what did i disable by not havin a SP_TOOLTIPS ?

So are you saying the hover is now totally gone? What that change did was turn off the fancy forum tooltips. Hover over the buttons and links on this page and you will see them. By turning it off you will get the standard browser tooltips instead.
If the issue was not your theme then it will come down to one of the plugins you are using but I really do not know what that might be. As I said above - I could see a lot f mentions of 'tooltips' on the source code header of your page and I am pretty certain that that s then conflicting with our own calls to the jQuery UI Tooltips script library. This is what you have now disabled.
I always believe that it is better to resolve the problems but if you are happy with this workaround then you will need to install a child theme. Download the Reboot Child Theme from our store (free) - install it - make the SAME change as above and then select that as your main SP theme. all should work as it does now. If you don't do that then when we next update the theme it will wipe out your change. ysuing the child theme will prevent that.

actually it's only half fixed it, ifs gone from the forum main view but when opening post replies it comes back...
I didn't have time to tinkrer with it yet but I am also suspecting two or more Plugins are ruining the whole thing for me.. I will start deleting stuff... And find it in the weekend..
I will update here so you will know as well

Please do... As Andy says, it's pretty easy to disable ours with a child theme. And we can help with that.

okay so here is an update.
i removed 90% of my plugins deleted all my old themes and and now using a different one just for testing.
deactivated the rest of the plugins.. i have only several plugins active. mostly wordpress made..
forum still making this hover caption.
im lost.....
the only thing tht seems to help is changing that true to false.
when its in false ho hover as of now.
what do i disable by the sptooltip=false?
do i loose my plugins or something else by disabling this?
My forum : https://critterGuide.ca/cgforum
Exactly. When you set the tool tips to false, we disable our pop-up tool tip when hovering over items.

Would you be willing to let me know the name of the WP theme and all the WP plugins you are using? If you go to the forum admin > toolbox > environment then you can copy the list and paste it into a post... If possible I would still like to try and nail this down properly.
