How can I set guest posts to require moderation before being visible?

I got my first spam post today as a guest, and while I have it set up to require a moderator's approval before posting it, the post was still visible and even in the feeds which i have on my site.

What do i need to change so that posts which require moderation are visible to no-one?

Thanks!

What do you mean visible in feeds? For who? We're you viewing the feed as you, ie admin, or regular user? When you view a feed, you do so with your permissions so as admin, you would see this post in moderation, but if you tried as guest or user, you would not.

Sorry my question was unclear.

In the footer of my site, I have a feed widget, which displays the 4 most-recent posts on my forums. Before i had even logged in, the spam post was showing in this widget, which is was originally tipped me off that i had a spam-post to begin with.

i clicked on it from the widget, and i could see the spam post, though it had a banner above it "Requires Moderation". This is all while not logged in as anyone.

With the way i'm using feeds, does it ignore the permissions i have set up for who can see what? I just noticed that my feed url contains a feed key. Could this also be the cause?

You should most certainly not include the feedkey in an RSS widget. That might well be the issue.

if you have a feedkey in the rss feed, you are essentially letting everyone read them as you...
