Support Forum
Hi team
When someone creates a topic in our forum, and then they want to edit it, they're saying they can't find it using the search bar. What i discovered is that their topic is not actually posted once they hit submit. It goes into moderation. So when they want to add something to their question, they can't find it.
So is there a way for all new topics and replies to be auto approved?
Many thanks
Graeme
you have complete control via permissions... you can control how any single (or all) usergroup has their posts handled... please read our faq on post moderation permissions: https://simple-press.com/docum.....ions-work/

Thanks so much - easy fix 🙂
One other question, is there a way to find all the posts that have no replies?
Our moderator can't always find all the unread and unanswered posts because other members are viewing the post before the moderator does, which remove the unread notifications. So how does she find all the posts that have not had replies - then she can start replying.
Personally I would take a look at our Admin Bar plugin. This can ensure that all posts made are seen or replied to by an Admin or Moderator. Post have to be marked as closed or replied to but it is all done in a simple UI that even includes a quick Reply feature. I, myself, rely on it to make sure I get to see everything that comes in.

Hey that Admin Bar is great, thanks for recommending it... but it has one limitation which you may be able to help with...
My forum moderator prefers to answer the oldest posts first and has been using the button "Most recent topics with unread posts" to open up the pop up window which allows her to see the date of the last post in any topic and she starts her work by replying to the oldest first... as you can see here in this screenshot: https://www.evernote.com/l/AMe.....3sCaOK4XeA
But when she uses the View New Posts to open the Admin Postbag (in the Admin Bar) she gets to see all the new posts and answer them in the same window - which is very - handy, but she can't see the date of when it was created or the thread, screenshot here: https://www.evernote.com/l/AMe.....viEyc_P_VE
So would it be possible to add the date/time to the Admin Postbag?
Or am i totally missing the point of how to use the forum as an Admin?
Appreciate the help.
btw... the template tags and widget plugin we offer also has functions for displaying unanswered posts (https://simple-press.com/docum.....red-posts/)... also, we have another plugin for helping here too with unanswered topics (https://simple-press.com/docum.....ed-topics/)
the whole point of the admin bar is to show admins and mods posts that have been made to the forum that have not been approved or viewed by any admins or mods... not sure why the date is important... normally, one would clear all posts in the admin postbag...
Also, anything in the admin postbag would have been created since the last time the admin/mod cleared the admin postbag... it wouldnt be a normal workflow to leave items in the postbag when clearing the forum...
sorry, but currently, no easy way to add a post date... would require modifications to the plugin code itself...
