We have a user with a post count of 4000 - simply because we had the option set to NOT decrement the counter on post deletion. We have now changed this and want to bring the Post Count for this particular user back in line.

How?

Really for just the one user? If that is an important must then you would need to change the database directly for that one user. If not then there is a housekeeping task in the forum admin toolbox that will recalc the counts.
