Hi There, I am trying to set up a forum for each member of the site cadnerds.com

When I try setting up the forum on a page , it shows 2 forums that I created so far. The idea is to have a forum for each paid member to discuss their own projects . We only want them to see the their own forum on their page...

What am I doing wrong in setting this up?

Thanks, Sandra

Hey Sandra,

Can you just explain a little more? You say what are you doing wrong but I can't see that you've posted any problems just an outline of what you're trying to achieve.

If you are referring to having multiple installs of SP on different pages, I don't think that's possible.

Sorry if I'm missing the point there!

you can create a forum per user..  and if you give them permission only on that forum, then will only see that...

if you are viewing it as an admin, you will have permission on all forums and see them...

however, all the forums must appear on the single wp page...

Ok, my problem is that when I am on a page, I see all forums. I do not want my customers clients to see more than 1 forum on their page.

For the client, I want only to show 1 forum per page.

My customer wants each of his customers to have a separate page for their projects with the page to include a forum for discussions.

What I was trying to do is set up just 1 forum on the page but the only option I saw was to change the order of the forums....

I guess the work around is based on permissions. Each of his customers will have multiple users and I did not want to have to set up multiple users. I just want to give them access to the page and let them see the forum.

Thanks , Sandra

A Steve pointed out above - if you are logged in as the forum admin then you will see them all but that is not necessarily what the users might see.

The only way to do this is with user groups and permissions which will do what you want but if you are talking one user at a time thats a lot of maintenance... but perfectly workable.
