but it did address this issue - or at least tries too...
you appear to be serving cached pages from wassup... or at least from the wassup timestamp is not possible tell if cached page or not... was asking you to verify that you have disabled wassup caching for the wp page the forum is on..

Oh, that was what you meant in your PM I deactivated the Wassup plugin, but the PM system still isn't working. I think other plugins are integrating caching functions. I Googled how to disable caching for specific Wordpress pages, but I can't find any relevant info. How do I do this? Thanks!
you would turn off caching for an individual page in the caching plugin, ie wassup... if you disabled it, that has the same effect...
I will take another look at it again now that I wont be served a cached page...

now, we are in business... so to speak... at least now its not a cached page and can see what the errors are... and it is throwing some js errors... still getting those from the videos - really should resolve those... but dont think its the issue here...
this is the latest pm plugin version 1.5, right? and its SP 5.2, correct? sorry, did not re-read this whole topic...
the wp jquery ui autocomplete js file is not being loaded...
can you go to forum - toolbox - housekeeping and try clearing the combined js cache file?

Yes, this is the latest PM plugin. No, the Simplepress version used is 5.1.4. I went to forums > toolbox > housekeeping, but I don't see anything about the combined JS cache file. I only see rebuild forum indexes, clean new posts list, clean up transients, reset profile tabs and reset auths cache. Which is it? Thanks!
really? that would explain it... you must have SP 5.2 to run that version of pm plugin... most of the recent plugin updates require 5.2... the upgrade page notifies you that 5.2 is required when offering the upgrade...
without 5.2, the pm js wont be getting loaded... thats the reason they were linked together...

I see. If I update to Simplepress 5.2, I won't lose anything, correct? (forum settings, permissions, posts, forum descriptions and so on) How do I update to Simplepress 5.2? Thanks!
correct. you should lose nothing... you should gain alot...
as always we recommend you make a db backup before beginning just to be safe...
then you should be able to upgrade in the wp dashboard - updates... like any other wp plugin...

First, thanks to you both. I greatly appreciate the help. PM system's working now, and finally, everything I want is right there now!
Good news indeed! just took a while to get there... should have checked the version early on... enjoy!
