Support Forum
Although I provide a detailed tutorial about the forum posting process to my members, there are always some who don't get it that they are supposed to click on Submit Reply to add new posts, and instead they click on Add Topic, which of course separates their new post from the original thread. I am wondering if there is any way to get rid of the Add Topic button below the post so that they are not so tempted to click on it?
you will want to create a child theme first so as not to lose changes on updates...
then in the child theme, copy over the reboot/templates/desktop/spTopicViewDesktop.php file... be sure to duplicate the directory structure where the file came from in the child theme...
edit the desktop one and remove these lines:
sp_PostNewTopicButton('tagId=spPostNewTopicButtonBottom&iconLock=sp_ForumStatusLockWhite.png&tagClass=spButton spRight',__sp('Add Topic'), __sp('Start a new topic'), __sp('This forum is locked'));
