Hi

I would like to know how to get an email sent to my inbox when someone makes a post on my forum?

Thanks

- also on this forum, is there a way to set it up so that I receive an email when someone replies to my post?

An Admin (or moderator) can receive an email notification upon each post by turning on the option for this in the Admins > Your Admin Options panel.

Your users can subscribe to either topics and/or forums but you will need to install and activate the Subscriptions Simple:Press plugin. See this codex article for more information on this plugin: http://codex.simple-press.com/.....criptions/

Of course - as an Admin, if you have the first option checked then you do not need to subscribe yourself.

OK. Perfect. Thanks for that. Found it.

The option which was selected was: "Receive notification (within forum - not email) on topic/post edits"

I have now also selected "Receive email notification on new topic/post",

2 questions:

- Is it possible to change this email?

- How does "Receive notification (within forum - not email) on topic/post edits" work? I mean where do I see notification in the forum?

Thanks

the email address is your email address.. the one you used with the account...  if you change the email address for your account, it will go there instead...

when someone edits a topic or a post, you will get a notice (background color/style depends on theme) at the top of the forum that someone edited a topic or post with a link to it...

I've had 10 posts since my Forum was set up last night, but there's no notice at the top of the forum? and the only email I receive is when someone subscribes to the forum. One or the other would do, I just need a way to follow the postings without going through the whole forum each time. How can check/activate this?

Thanks

we said the notice would be when someone edits a post - not makes a new post...

we do not send out a notice when someone subscribes to a forum, so not sure what you mean... unless you mean you get an email for new posts in a topic/forum you are subscribed to (quite different than what you said)...

they are a couple other ways to see new posts since your last visit... you have the new/recently updated topics dropdown... right there in your forum header next to search... you can also use the admin bar plugin which will contain a list of new posts and allow you to handler moderating posts if needed...

if you are an admin or mod, have you enabled the option to get email notification on new posts in forum - admins - your admin options? and do you have valid email for your account? keep in mind also, that wp sends all emails, not us though we ask them to send it...
