Support Forum
Hi,
kindly advise if the steps I have done is correct.
I would like to create a forum by itself..which means to say no sidebar, wordpress comments, searchbar..etc
At first, I installed the " Includes the Simple:Press core WordPress plugin and a full starter pack of Simple:Press themes"
It turns out that the forum appears on the main content of the wordpress which makes its very untidy and messy.
So I tried to download the simple wordpress theme into my theme folder in hoping to have just the forum theme alone.
After the installation, I received this error message which says "Stylesheet is missing."
My website is http://www.sportsforlife.sg
Please advise is the steps I have done is correct.
You need to understand a little how WordPress works and uses temp.lates. This is NOTHING to do with the forum - that will display in the content area of your page. This is about WP templates.
Basically you will need to create a custom WP template. This is actually very easy and not as daunting as it might sound.
This - http://wiki.simple-press.com/f.....-template/ - is an old tutorial on our old V4 wiki but the basics can still be applied. You create a nbew pagew template and just leave out all the bits you don't want.
Your problem might be that some of the bits you do not want are in the WP header and/or footer templates but you wont know that until you make a start.
Just remember that to work, SP needs the mandatory function calls to wp_head(), wo_footer() and the_content() so these do have to be in place.
