Can you tell me if it's possible to remove the "please consider registering" text that sits above guest on the forum. http://www.gcps.org.au

do you not want folks to register? then you should just disable wp option for allowing users to sign up...
but if you want to allow registrations and just remove the text, like most display elements, you have control over it in your sp theme...
in this case, the spHead.php template file... look for the template tag:
sp_LoggedInOutLabel('tagClass=spLabelSmall spLeft', __sp('Logged in as<br /><b>%USERNAME%</b>'), __sp('Please consider registering<br /><b>guest</b>'), __sp('Welcome back <b>%USERNAME%</b><br />Please log in to post'));
and just make it an empty string...
as always, we recommend you edit your own theme vs one of ours so you dont lost changes on updates...
