almost icons are contained in your simple press theme you are using... if you want to customize them, simply replace them in your theme... of course, as we always recommend, you should create your own theme to keep it future upgrade proof... see:  http://codex.simple-press.com/.....g-a-theme/

as to the default avatar - assume you mean any of the defaults, they are kept in the avatar storage location you have defined on forum - integration - storage locations...  typically its wp-content/sp-resources/forum-avatars... again, just replace the default ones with your own avatars for admin, member and guest (the default ones)... dont forget about pool avatars if you want a group of avatars that users can select from...
