I haven't really messed with my SP themes css lately and everything was working just fine. However, I had a new user post the other night and after I checked out the post from the admin bar, 'View New Posts'. I could read the post from the admin bar option, but after I selected to mark the post as read and to view the post, nothing showed up on the post page. All I could see is the option to edit the post inside the post container.

You can view the screen shot I took here: http://screencast.com/t/qt06yUcGXsL

Also the admin bar is scattered vertically with no styling. My footer is actually in the forum somehow. It only shows the bugs on this specific post page and everywhere else I look in the forum and on my site, everything seems to be fine except for this post page.

I went through my Wordpress plugins and deactivated all of them one by one hopping I could pinpoint the problem, but I didn't have any luck finding the issue. I'm starting to think it's possible a CSS issue or something with my SP CSS. I tried using Firebug but I really don't understand it well enough to make any necessary changes.

If any of you would be willing to snatch up login credentials to check out the possible problem I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

My initial thought - and it has been a long time since we had such a thing reported - is that somehow the content of the post is what is screwing up the display. If, for example, the content was copied from another source and then simply pasted into the editor, it could potentially have all sorts of hidden formatting and styling - not to mention tags - that might be causing the issue. And such a problem can spread beyond the confines on the post area if, for example, html tags are left unbalanced in some way.

The easiest and safest way to check for this is actually directly in the database if that is possible. In that way the raw post content can be studied to look for unwanted flotsam and to see if any html tags are defined and if they all match up. Is that going to be possible?

Not a folder. I was referring to the actual database table. You can use the phpMyAdmin that almost certainly comes with your hosting control panel to do this surprisingly easily. If you eant to go with it I can try and talk you through the steps.

I also noticed when I click 'edit post' I will be able to view the post at that point but the editor itself will not appear.

You can check out the screen shot here: http://screencast.com/t/ifOC86t6

Still trying to locate the file....

I'm not having much luck locating the post.

I'm looking along this path:

/public_html/marketingden.net/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-file-uploads

Can you provide me with the correct path to search in?

I just seen post #4

I don't know anything about phpMyAdmin

Guess I will have to learn something new again.

I guess I could just delete the post, that would be much faster, although thats a good way to lose members.

Is there anyway to copy/paste the post on behalf of the member? I'm sure just deleting it and reposting as that person would be the best way to solve this problem.

Well, i'm in the phpMyAdmin in my cPanel.

I'm not really sure what i'm looking at. I'm guessing I have to access the database at this point?
