i get this on my smileys every time insert a smiley:

Looks to me like you may have some sort of plugin installed that is adding a unique code or id to the file name.

See where 'sf-cool.gif' has been turned into 'sf-cool.gifd7bd4?9d7bd4'.

So you have something messing with image file names? Ring any bells?

have you checked your wp theme or other plugins?  do any deal with smileys or images and might be corrupting image links?
