when i insert an image into a post it cant be close due some type of over lay

I resolved this issue with some CSS

background: rgb(7, 7, 7) !important;
opacity: .50 !important;
filter: Alpha(Opacity=50) !important;
z-index: 1 !important;
}

yup. pretty much what I pointed you to... though if you have a z-index of 1 with !important, likely battling your wp theme for control...
