I am using the default theme. Have a look at any of these four images as an example:

If you want to dig deeper, I can set you up with a temporary WP/SP account, and/or an ssh login. We would need to communicate accounts and passwords via a secure channel. I happen to use jtisi (jitsi.org) over Google's XMPP network. It implements OTR (https://otr.cypherpunks.ca/) which is pretty damn secure (barring being pw0ned and having a keylogger installed, lol)... Pidgin does the same...

are you sure you did the changes we listed at: http://codex.simple-press.com/.....tes-5-3-0/
I know you had an issue with the z-index, but you css is still missing the close background image as defined on that page...

I'm having the same gray crosshatch issue when enlarging images. Here's an example forum post with images:
http://www.projectsinmetal.com.....the-g0602/
I took a look at the Z-index of the overlay and it was something like 3000001. I didn't see a Z-index of 1 anywhere but I can look again.
Is that the only fix for this?
I had the problem with WP3.7 and SP5.2. I just upgraded to WP3.8 and SP5.4 and the problem persists. I was hoping the upgrade would fix it but it didn't.
did you make the changes listed in post #12??
seems to be some interaction with your theme too... setting the z-index for .ui-widget-overlay to -1 seems to fix it on your site...

I didn't mess with the changes in #12 but I was able to change the z-index to -1 and it fixed it. For some reason I never thought to change it to a negative number!
I'm having another issue with the new layout, but I'll probably have to set up an admin login for you Papa so you can see it. I'll just send you a PM instead.
As always, thanks for the help!!
good to hear... please discuss the issue in a topic first... it may help someone else... then send the pm to both myself and yellow swordfish... and be sure to link back to the topic so we know what its about...

I've had the same problem for any logged in user. If my memory serves me, I solved this quite a while back by altering the css as described here: https://simple-press.com/docum.....tes-5-3-0/ in the section on popup dialogues.
Since I upgraded SP, the problem has returned, see http://screencast.com/t/Mq5xjRyEaEG. I cannot find the same css coding referenced in the help article any more e.g. .ui-dialog .ui-dialog-titlebar-close and much of the rest.
Is there another option open to me solving this?
Thanks
EDIT: looking in the wrong place - I don't do this often enough!! Anyway it looks like the latest version of the default theme has these changes already made. So I'm even more stuck for a solution I guess.
sorry, not sure I understand your issue based on the screenshot and the details of this topic... can you provide more details and perhaps link to example?
and also are you saying that the images display properly for guests? just different/wrong for logged in users?

Sorry, the logged in user issue is a bit of a red herring. Forum permissions don't allow non members to view links and therefore images, so they wouldn't see the issue.
I've changed permissions temporarily so you don't need to bother with registering. Please view this page...
http://wooddesigner.org/forum/.....are/#p1361
...then click on the first image you see so it pops up, then scroll back up to the top of the page. You'll see that the image slides behind the navigation bar and blue header.
Thanks
p.s. I'm away from my computer for most of today, so apologies if I don't respond quickly to any other questions you might have, cheers
It's your Wp theme header being a little greedy and ,making sure it sits over the top of everything else.
You will need to change the z-index on the .ui-dialog class in your Simple:Press theme styling file.
Seems to me that the z-index - which is currently set at 10 - needs to be 9999 to work.
As always we recommend the use of a child theme to ensure changes are not lost when upgrading. There are now Child Theme Frameworks available to download for all of our themes to make this simple and full and extensive details can be found on our Codex - Creating a Child Theme page: https://simple-press.com/docum.....ild-theme/
