Oh - if you are using the plain text editor then you should wrap the text in paragraph tags isolated from the image tags.

The editor you select in your SP profile (from the editor plugins active) will be the editor used for all operations. So if you have the bbCode editor selected for posts then this will be the editor used elsewhere - for signatures and PMs etc.

Apologies - you are right. I remember now that we do need to use the plain text editor there. It is not the bbCode editor just a plain textarea. I also see there are some oddities there with using tags like 'br' for example.

Try something like this - it works for me... based on my simple signature...

<div style="color: #aaaaaa">YELLOW SWORDFISH</div>
<div><img src="/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-image-uploads/smallfish.gif" alt="" width="40" height="48" /></div>

Now when I updated the signature it looked wrong in that it changed the ending 'divs' to 'codes' but it actually does display and format it correctly.

I will open a ticket to get this looked at. Seems like the WP display filters are perhaps messing with it which might mean they have changed something.

alright, but i can't ask my users, who are a bunch of doglovers to start using html code just to get there signature right..

isn't it possible to change the editor over there so people can use an 'enter'?

I also have a large forum about cats and almost every user has a Image and a line of text in there signature.. i asume lots of people benefit from it

You always have been able to use an 'enter'. And we have thousands of users successfully using images and text in signatures. As I said - it looks to me like WP filtering has been changed so we need to investigate. At the moment it is not possible to run the tinymce editor in an ajax call but this is also something we continually investigate to see if it has changed to enable us to do it. I have already opened a bug report to get it looked at.
