Maybe I'm doing this wrong or something. Back in 4.4.5 (and before), I would often use the file uploader to upload screenshots, then insert them into a post. The image would thumbnail automatically when I view the post. However, with the new uploader, I'll upload and it'll auto insert the image, BUT it does not resize it. Why doesn't it resize it? Is there a workaround or fix for this?
resize what?
in the 5.0 uploader, when you upload an image, it gets inserted into the post... if you have the image enlargement feature enabled (forum - options - content settings), then a thumbnail will be inserted... the thumbnail size will be as specified on that options panel...
what do you have set for the 'Always use image thumbnails' option on that panel?
Are you saying you are getting images size bigger than the thumbnail size specified on that panel with the image enlarger enabled?

Yes, I'm saying the images are not getting thumbnailed after I upload using the uploader.
My "Always use image thumbnails" option is green. My thumbnaiil size is set to 300 px. I've attached an example of a uploaded imiage not being thumbnailed and a screenshot of my Image Enlargement settings.
(Sorry had to reduce image quality in order to get it to fit within the upload constraints.)
The image in the second picture is: 1920 x 1200 and as you can clearly see, it's not resizing to the thumbnail size but instead keeping the original size.

Does the html for the image have a class attribute?
If you read the popup help on the above panel it does state that if a class attribute is assigned to the image tab then it will ignore the settings. So is that possible?
Why would it have a class attribute? I never edit the HTML for the image(s) nor in my posts on the forum. Would the forum be adding a class attribute to it? Unfortunately, my site is offline atm, so I can't check to see if it does have a class attribute.
or perhaps some other plugin you might have running (or theme) might add them... you would be surprised at what we see themes and plugins adding to stuff...
when someone gets different results than the general masses, we have to ask questions about the specific situation to determine what might be at play... since you are having issues, we need to know more about the environment...
