I did a test image upload in Firefox, then in IE and both worked fine for me.

To clarify you don't use an insert an image. You click on Upload attachments then Add files once a file is added then start upload.

That what I've been doing and it just stalls when I say start upload and just sits there. Maybe it's my computer and nothing to do with the site?

Yea it worked fine for me. Even uploaded a pic of something 'woodworking wise" 
Have you tried Firefox or Chrome to see if they work? Maybe it's a Silverlight issue which I don't use and Mr. Papa may be able to help with.

Feel free to try an image upload here or on our demo site http://demo.simple-press.com/ if you want to check and make sure you can upload an image from your machine.

I tried Chrome once before and it screwed up my Outlook email. I haven't tried firefox. If you think its worth a try I will.

OK this is strange. The demo site uploaded fine when I was logged in through my google account but on this site it did the same thing and wouldn't upload?

It shouldn't matter how you logged in.
It looks like we need to pause for a moment to check a few things though. Without going into a lot of details the demo site and this site are using different WordPress and Simple:Press versions. Disregarding the issue here if you can upload an image on the demo site you should be able to do so on yours like I just did.
How about we shelf this for a few hours or so and let me and the SP team look at a few things?
