users and logins are the purview of WordPress... we dont have users nor do we log in (or block users)...
may seem like strange answer, but if the plugin is locking folks out and you dont want it to, why not disable it? Not sure how we could override that plugin...

I'm not sure what you mean by this? When you register for a forum using the Simple Press plugin, it creates a user within WordPress, with a predetermined user role. Is the behavior I am experiencing not normal? I can't uninstall the plugin because it is a required plugin security plugin by our hosting (WP Engine). I think your plugin is great, but am just trying to figure out if this is normal. WP Engine is a great host, and more and more people will be using it, and Simple Press essentially won't work on it.
Are you saying that if an admin enters their password incorrectly too many times it locks every single user out for 20 minutes as well? Is this not something that can be configured in the options of this security plugin? I don't think for example if this were to happen on a blog that it would log out every subscriber for 20 minutes?
Sorry if I have the wrong end of the stick here, but as Mr Papa says, users are controlled through WP, not SP. The same rules should apply.

What I mean by that is what it says.. you dont log in through simple press.. you are logging in through wp... we simply put a wp login form on the forum page... its still 100% wp...
Simple press does not create any users nor assign any roles... wp does... when they register through wp... the form may be on the forum page, but its still all wp...
Not sure what you are saying about wp engine... We have quite a few users there... actually, many in the wp community are quite unhappy with them... they unilaterally disable some plugins and features, as well as force you to use some specific plugins... but regardless, simple press works there...
afraid there is no way for us to disable the wp plugin either... and its just affecting wp logins... simple press not involved there...
earlier you said it blocked access to the admin... do you really mean that? or do you mean its blocking logins? that is two different things too...
