Increase horizontal white space between custom icons and forum title

I am using the css only theme.

As you can see from the screen shot, the forum titles touch the custom icons (not for the group, but for the individual forums). These icons are 50x50 px. How can I increase the horizontal white space between the icons and the forum titles? Or do I need to make the icons smaller?

Trying to follow your advice, I am encountering these obstacles:

1. When opening the editor, there is no search box, I cannot find the designated code.

2. When copying the text of the theme from the editor to a text editor, the code mentioned in http://codex.simple-press.com/…..mn-widths/ is not found.

3. This part of the codex suggests I copy the theme and change the code in the copy. Here my question is: how do I do that precisely? Do I copy it in my file manager in CPanel and then rename it and choose it in the S:P available theme section? Or should I do it in some other way?

Inline and simple editing windows like those employed by WordPress for themes and plugins generally do not. They are meant to allow quick and small changes. If you really need to search then you can use the browser search - that will find text in the edit window.

2. When copying the text of the theme from the editor to a text editor, the code mentioned in http://codex.simple-press.com/…..mn-widths/ is not found.

Then I am afraid that you must have either the wrong file or you have made a bad copy because it is there. The display can not work without column statements and control. But why are you copying text? If you feel you need to make a copy you should be copying the whole file.

3. This part of the codex suggests I copy the theme and change the code in the copy. Here my question is: how do I do that precisely? Do I copy it in my file manager in CPanel and then rename it and choose it in the S:P available theme section? Or should I do it in some other way?

We recommend that you create your own SP theme so that any customisation is not lost during a future update. (http://codex.simple-press.com/.....g-a-theme/)

Most people copy files between their server and desktop PC using standard ftp tools.

Okay, thank you.

The 'write-your-own-theme' idea was a bit much for my limited skills, so I tried reducing the icons to 40x40 px. That somehow also actually made the forum titles indent more, now being the same indent width as the group title, which was good enough for me... Sorry to bother you about the theme writing issues.

It really only looks complicated. When you go ahead and do it it is really very simple. :)

Thanks for the encouragement. If ever I really need to do this, I will!
