Install Error

When I installed SP it said it didn't have write permission to the sp_resources directory but when I look at storage locations it says they are all writeable. The forums seems to operate ok though.

Then, when I try to install a SP plug in it says "are you sure you want to do this" then says "please try again" over and over.

Please help.

Thanks!

the directories need more than just writable... two checks are made... but if both checks are good, should be okay...

as to sp plugin, are you installing as SP plugin and not as WP plugin?

That's correct.

are you adding the plugin as an wp admin who installed sp?  or as a different wp admin?  nt sure why wp would be throwing the permission error ('are you sure')...  that is not a simple press message...

can you try clearing your browser cache, logging out and back in?  really confused about what WP might not be liking...

wonder if there is a permission issue still in sp-resources and we cannot actually load the pluign into the storage location...  I know the storage location panel says all is good, but perhaps is a uid/gid (ownership) issue vice actual permission...  Can you check the uid/gid and compare to wp-content?

also go to forum - admins - manage admins and make sure this wp admin has all the sp admin capabilities...

Thanks, I'll check that out. Sure seems like a permissions problem to me. After SP does the install, I can't change any of the directory permissions in sp-resources.

can't change? from where?  ftp?

can you view the permissions (as well as gid/uid) from wherever you are looking?  again, compare to wp-content...

some flavors of php and their settings dont let the web user create directories properly... we try to catch that, but perhaps cannot in this case...

sounds like ownership issue... can you view the ownership (owner/group)
