no.. its a unix thing... just like you have a permission (ie 0755), you have an owner for user and group... uid and gid... see: http://www.perlfect.com/articl.....hmod.shtml
most ftp clients let you see it... gid/uid might be expressed as name or digits (name more friendly)...

there ya go... so server settings did not let us create the folder properly... we try to catch that, hence the message.. so bit surprised they were still created...
two options...
fix the ownership... might take root access via ssh or other control panel...
remove the directory and create it yourself... you will have to create the subdirs too... and then populate with data...

ok. I'm not really an SSH guy if you know what I mean but I can go back and create all the directories and then move the files in.

if you can view them, and download them via http://ftp... once you create sp-resources, should just be able to upload...

I made some progress and actually got some plugins installed but I had to literally copy everything and set permissions manually including the other plugins. Now I have all kinds of SP template issues among many others when I try to hit the forums from Wordpress. Bottom line is for whatever reason this Simple Press as a whole is not installing correctly. There are initially major permission issues during the standard install. Not sure I can or even want to deal with it until the install issues are corrected properly.
