how is that done...simply

dont drown me in multi site/ plugin / admin redirects and tons of coding, pop up pics or a video showing how to do it would be nice.

the extra fields are country and gender, which are list items on the registration form, ie they choose from dropdowns.

finally how would i add/assign a icon for each to show on their profiles underneath their name and member group which is already visible  ?

Well you assume that I know how the s2member plugin works and I am sorry to say that I don't.

The first thing to determine is where s2member stores these extra profile fields. If it sticks to the WordPress standard for profile data that it will be in the usermeta table and if that is the case then adding it to the SP profile popup is fairly straightforward. If it is not the case then it would probably require some custom coding.

So - can you find that out?

its in the wp/ s2member usermeta table, so how do i get the automatic transfer of that data to show up on the users sp profile underneath their Avatar, name and forum rank ?

Install and activate the Simple:Press Custom Profile Fields plugin.

When active - open the custom profile fields admin panel under profiles.

Create a new custom field with EXACTLY the same name as the one in the usermeta table. This means the value of the 'meta_key' column.

Select text field. And then select the Simple:Press profile panel you want the data to appear on.

Save the new entry.

The only problem I can see here is if s2member has saved the profile data as an array of items. If this is the case I am unsure if this will work. But if they have abided by the standards and it is a single item of data then it should be fine.

So this will get it onto the users profile form. Getting it to display involves editing a template or two but let's check the abioe first before we get into that.
