Support Forum
I have just installed Simple Press onto a site with OptimizePress 2.0, a widely used WordPress theme for internet marketing and member websites.
The forum page has the actual forum above the header and WordPress page content. This occurs whether I am using the default "forum" page or a newly created page that I called "member-forum".
When I use the default forum page (which is set to use the Default Template for the theme) it duplicates the Simple Press forum content below the header as well.

When I integrate the forum into the "member-forum" page with an OptimizePress membership page template, then there is no duplication, however the forum is full width at the top of the page, then the header appears below. I can't see any way to put the header above the forum.
I have one other site set up with OptimizePress 2.0 and Simple Press, and it does not have this problem.
Does anyone have experience with this type of integration?
I would be happy to give admin access to your support team to troubleshoot, if that will help.
On an unrelated question, I'd like to know if there is any way to integrate Simple Press with the Digital Access Pass membership system, which I use to control access to member lesson pages.

Forum admin > Integration > Page and Permalink. Have a play with the top two options in the 'Theme Display Options' section. One of those should sort the issue. Try them one at a time preferably only keeping one of them on but both if necessary. These settings should help out when a WP theme does a little non-standard stuff with a page template. The fact ot worjs on another site might be down, possibly, to the theme options you have set.
We have a lot of users working just fine with this theme.
We also have users running DAP I believe. So - it depends on what you actually mean by 'integrate'. User credentials, login/logout/registration etc., is all under the control of your Wordpress site. Simple:Press does not get involved in that at all. But mapping users to SP User Groups for example, might be relevant depending on the integration you have in mind.

looks like you have fixed it since I dont see the duplication anymore...
a couple more things on the DAP usage (since I have set up couple sites using it)...
As Andy says, we have numerous using using it and its really about wp, so if logged into wp, you are logged into sp...
you will have to have DAP option for wp user synch set... DAP uses their own user db tables (it supports more than just wp), so you have to enable the sync so the users exist in wp too...
since DAP has its own login page, you will want to edit the login form template tag in the simple press theme you are using (suggest creating a child theme) and modify it to output a link to the DAP login page rather than displaying the inline wp login form... see: http://codex.simple-press.com/.....outbutton/

Hi, first time poster here!
I am having trouble integrating my Simple Press forum into an Optimize Press 2 page (which contains the standard header and navigation bar I use on all my pages).
Is there a Simple Press forum shortcode I can use? I don't know how to "put" the forum into an Optimize Press 2 page. I've gone through the suggestions in this thread and have spent many hours trying to figure this out.
Thanks for any help or insights!
A bit confused. Are you saying that when you installed Simple:Press it did not create the page it needs to display itself on?
What have you done so far? Have you installed SP? Did that go through smoothly and report it had finished?
If so then by default it should have created a WordPress 'page' named 'forum'. Go to the forum admin > integration > page and permalink panel and look at the top. Is a page selected? And if so has it not injected the page into your menu system or will you need to do that manually (which is possible under some circumstances).
That's probably asking enough for now. Come on back with answers and we can assess where you are.

Thank you for the quick help!
Yes, I've installed SP and that went smoothly. It created a default Wordpress 'page' named 'forum,' and right now under forum admin > integration > page that 'forum' page has been selected. Just as you said.
So SP is showing up and looking like this - the default wordpress theme template (attachment below)
I'd like to include the same header and navigation toolbar I have for all my other pages (Optimize Press 2 pages). Unlike what Eric mentioned above, my Optimize Press 2 doesn't have a membership page template.
This is what the rest of my pages look like:
Please let me know anything else I need to clarify
Let's try the most obvious first.
The page display is ruled and controlled by your WordPress theme so you need to check which page template the forum page is being displayed with. Edit the page in WordPress and one of the options over on the right should show a list of page templates that are available. We normally just set things up to use he default but you may need to change this to suit the rest of your site. Check this first to make sure this is set up as needed.

I have checked the 'forum' page again and looked at the page attributes section. In Optimize Press 2 (unlike Optimize Press 1) there are no page templates to choose from. Optimize Press 2 does have a number of "content templates" but none of them involves a forum... that's why I was wondering if there's a shortcode I can use to place my Simple: Press forum into OP2. Is there another solution?
sorry, confused.... are you trying to change the page template or the actual wp page? two different things...
you select the page on forum - integration - page and permalink...
you select the page template (from ones provided by your theme) when you edit the actual wp page the forum is on... there you can change the template...
