Hello Sirs.

Another one to check with you if you could be so kind.

OCCASIONALLY, readers of my forums get this warning:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/wwwracec/public_html/wp-content/plugins/simple-press/sp-api/sp-api-auths.php on line 112

What is it, and how can I fix it ?

Thanking you kindly in advance

Rich

First issue would be why are you displaying these notices (they are not errors) on your live site?? It is not good and strongly frowned on by php and potentially reveals server info that is not best from security perspective.

Running 5.1.3?

We will take a look and see if we can resolve the notice in next version. On Aug 20, 2012 9:16 AM, "Simple:Press Support" wrote:

I am displaying them as i had no idea what they were - hence my question.

Thank you for pointing out what they are. These warnings have only started to appear since I updated to version 5.1.3.

I have also turned my error reporting off in my php.ini file - again, i was unaware of where, how or what this until today, because of those warnings.

You're missing my first point. You have your php configured to show notices. That is not recommended by the php folks and security folks. You should not be displaying errors, warnings, and notices on a production site. They should be suppressed. You would fix that in your server php.ini file.

That is separate from the notice being generated which we will rectify in next version.

No i'm not, I understood and have changed my php.ini file after your first post.

I was not aware of this setting in php as I have never been made told or read about it.

You are the first person to point this information out to me and others on here i guess - so thank you for that.

The warning only started to show after i upgraded upgrade, but as it turns out, you have saved me and others potentially huge problems.

Your knowledge is very much appriciated :D

we have also put in place the SP error log (in the admin > toolbox) which WILL log the warnings as we do want to stamp them out and do whenever we hear of one or find one. So when things pop up in there please do let us know. But glad to hear you have eradicated them from your site.
