Do you understand what I mean by 'editor'?

Where it gives you the options to bold insert picture, hyperlink etc. If so I don't get any of them when I use my iPad.

So something changed and that might be where I asked you to change the 'ipad' to 'iPad' in the mobile user agent list. Last time when I tried your site I WAS seeing the full tinyMCE editor.

I just loaded up your site in my iPad but I see you have put the guest posting restrictions back on so I am unable to test it again.

I'll open the board again for you now.

have you made any other changes to your site? Added any new plugins? Updated the theme? Anything at all? Because what I am seeing is still NOT the plain text editor. I am now seeing the tinymce editor without the toolbar!

Nope. The only thing I've done is take all the smileys off the board.

I've opened a ticket here for us to review our mobile checking routines but in truth they do seem to work for other users...

After I upgraded my iPad 2 to OS 5 Safari regularly crashes on forums particularly when posting. This is a very widespread problem with the iPad for several months that Apple has ignored to address publicly. There are over 700 posts in a support thread at the Apple support forum. There are a number of fixes but none work, or work for a brief period of time. I saw one response that went into detail about certain web site elements that caused Safari to crash. (Not by fault of the web design but of OS 5 design.)

See the Apple support (or better said lack of support) thread here:

This is an Apple OS 5 problem. A fix from Apple is way past due.

Not sure if I forgot to post the Apple link but it is not showing up in my post. Here it is again:
discussions.apple.com/thread/2460899?start=0&tstart=0
Drove me nuts until I found out it was not a problem on my end.
If links can't be posted here search for "iPad Safari crashing regularly" at the Apple support forum.
