there is a big uproar in the homesteading community right now, one of the biggest forums had been acquired by carbon media group which owns a large amount of forums and they screwed up big time, you can read about it here

http://www.managingcommunities.....ainst-you/

several of the mods were so pissed they decided to start their own forum with pro-boards and quite a few of the members have followed, I think they might be biting off more than they anticipated and was thinking of offering to combine our two forums.

Would it be possible to import a relatively new proboard forum into our existing one? Just want clarification before I shoot them a message.

pro boards?  not sure what that is, but that forum you linked to actually looks like vbulletin...  our importer does indeed do vbulletin, though a bit of limitation to what can be brought over...

there is a service which does a complete transfer:  http://gconverters.com/

we are not affiliated with them in any way, but users have reported good success with them...

yes, the carbon media forum is a v-bulletin, the offshoot is a pro-board forum, it's a free forum system that adds advertisement onto the forums to generate income. of course you can pay to disable the ads and such

I would think it is worth asking gConverters. They DO deal with vBulletin I believe.

The tricky part is the combining of the two forums but it would not surprise me of they could handle that. They seem geared up for this sort of task.
