Is there a way to make Pinned posts stand out more?

All I see is a small 'thumb tack" in the middle.  We need something more noticeable that would differentiate the pinned post from a regular post.

Is this possible? Maybe highlight the entire box or changing the icons?

I assume you are talking about the topic index listing as opposed to a pinned post within a topic thread. If so then there is no option currently for a custom icon although I have an open ticket to discuss adding one.

But the row IS assigned the class of 'spPinnedTopic' so you can alter the look of it - say the background - with a simple CSS rule. If you add - for example -

#spMainContainer .spForumTopicSection.spPinnedTopic {
    background-color: yellow;
}

to your SP theme stylesheet then that will turn the background bright yellow. Use your preferred color of course!

As always we recommend that you create your own SP child theme or custom theme so that any customisation is not lost during a future update.

Works great, but how do I create a SP Child Theme?  For now, I'm just adding it to my WP Child Theme.

The actual codex page is still being worked on but that blog post should tell you all you need to know.

Hey kvr,

The following will do for hover, and of course you can do the same for the text inside.

#spMainContainer .spForumTopicSection.spPinnedTopic:hover {
    background-color: yellow;
}
