Isn't plupload already included in Wordpress, why do we need a plugin for it?

Hi, I have been trying to figure out how to upload images in Simple Press 5 and I see that you need a plugin for that.  I downloaded the plugin but now don't know how to import it into Wordpress.  Do I just use the Wordpress plugin uploader?  Then simple press sees it and it works?  That's why I'm not sure because I thought plupload was already included in Wordpress but now I see it is a plugin addon for Simple Press.  Please clarify.  Many thanks for your help, I am enjoying playing with your forum plugin.

Go to forum admin > Integration > Storage Locations which will tell you where to put things. Or - if you have the latest update it will tell you at the top of the SP plugins panel.

Interestingly, we adopted plupload as our uploader of choice before WP announced they were doing the same so it was already constructed in the early SP 5. As far as I know, WP has not exposed their version yet to enable plugins to make use of it and they also do have a tendency to make specific changes. But when and if that comes about we will look into it.
