I just did a fresh install after some earlier issues I had, and I'm having a hard time with certain buttons.

There are 3 right now.

1) The reply to topic. When I click on it nothing happens. Its a test thread that I created and made a post on. It just says javacript:void(null) when I hover.

2) I'm also getting the same issue with the admin pages plugin, when I click on admin page, nothing happens.

3) When I click on the "Open Forum toolset"

my site is http://www.androiddoes.net/forum

well, when you load up a page (not just forum pages) you do get a lot of js issues... the first is from some digg button...

also worry about all that attracta code showing up after the </problem-with-post-edit-buttontml> tag...  why is the attracta code only showing up on the forum page???

the js errors are keeping other js from running...  dont worry about the void(null)... that just means the target is activated by an onclick action instead of the href link....

so probably need to narrow down what is going on...  can you try a quick temp switch to the default wp theme and see if things improve?

I have no idea why the attracta code keeps showing up. I'm with Host gator and based on a prior issue it might be something to do with them. I will have to contact them I suppose.

I ran firebug and used the console to find an error. It says " Error: Permission denied to access property 'toString' " but I don't know what that means, so who knows what the issue is.

not sure either... its cryptic...

the attracta is some seo thing that host gator offers... if you are not explicitly using it, would recommend turning it off... just takes resources if you are not using it...

I am also getting errors (or at least failed updates) from tweet blender... its trying to update something every 10 seconds (wow thats often for something on tweets!) and having some level of trouble...  each update is taking 1-2 seconds to process...  kind of another drain on your server...

did you ever try a switch to default theme?

No, Im going to try the switch to the default theme next. I'm on the line with Hostgator and even though I have asked foer the Attracta crap to be removed, evidently its not been removed. After doing some research online it appears I may have found an resolution.

Not sure about the Tweetblender thing, there is no option to set a time of when it pulls so I guess the every 10 seconds is by default, although it does have caching so once the page is loaded it doesn't request again ( I think )

I use firefox with firebug... awesome - best out there...

I was just on the home page, I think... and was monitoring each of those tweet blender checks... what is it possibly checking every 10 seconds? thats a lot for tweets... can you tune that - if not just for site performance...

So there is good news and bad news -

The good news is that I got the forums working OK, The bad news is that is was on the default twenty twelve theme. SO it is something to do with theme, or maybe my attempting to do some custom CSS on the site that is causing the issue.

Not what I was hoping for :(

Side note : The Jquery libraries are being sourced properly  -  not sure if this is a clue for anything.

if the theme change worked Ok then I would suspect that it is another of the scripts being loaded by the theme. I can't get into the site at the moment as it is stalling waiting for external calls to google (apis/fonts/ga) on just about every page.

So - are there script loading components with the WP theme that could be turned off for testing?
