Support Forum
Hi.
I am using SP within a membership page created by the Cart66 plugin. Cart66 doesn't use the WP user database. My customers buy a membership which takes them to the membership page where the forum is.
They then need to register for the forum which forces them to create a new login. This would be very confusing for the members so I was looking for an alternative.
I have changed the login to use Janrain RPX and logging in through Facebook seems to work well.
My question is - If someone signs in through facebook, will they then need to manually enter their email address in order to be able to subscribe to posts? With the email address being in the account settings section of the profile I am not sure how many people would realise they have to go there in order to do this. Or, when they go to subscribe will it prompt them for an email address if they do not already have one entered?
Ultimately I would like to be able to somehow integrate the Cart66 login with SP. Do you know if this is possible, even if I have to pay for customisation?
Cheers
Murray
Cart66 doesnt use WP users????? wow, pretty ignorant... wonder why...
as a plugin for WordPress, we use what WP gives us... this includes users, registrations and logins... doesn make sense to create a separate user database... I am not sure if there is any way simple press to work with a plugin like that ignores the wp api...
if use use RPX or other 3rd party login plugin, most, if not all of them actually create a wp user from the 3rd party connect info... when the account is created, the email address is pulled from the 3rd party system... if an email does not come across, I believe they get redirect to the sp profile to enter one...
