I’m having an issue with both the login button and the add a topic button… the login button shows javascript:void(0); and the Add a Topic button shows javascript:void(null); upon rollover…
I have to login to WP because I can’t use the login button on the forum page… If I am logged in to WP as the admin that’s when I see the Add a Topic button that unfortunately also won’t work…
All the other buttons seem to work.
Help! I’m desperate!
the javascript:void(0) is irrelevant – it just means that the onclick attribute of the link is used and not the href…
but its still more than likley a js/jquery conflict… if you can give us a link, we can check for the obvious wp theme doing things wrong…

In order to view the site, you would have to modify your local host file… can I email my credentials to you instead of posting on the forum?
have you looked for a jquery conflict as indicated in the codex article?

I just sent a PM to both Mr Papa and Yellow Swordfish with the details… Please note that the http:// is not necessary for the local host file edit… the email placed that there automatically…

Simon, the solution has been found many times… did you read the codex article linked to in post #2? and try to resolve the conflict?
If you dont know that, then a link to your site is needed to look for the conflict… its usually not the same fix from wp theme to wp theme… but is as the codex article says about improperly coded themes…

Scott, quite familiar with that concept – do it all the time…

so multiple things wrong going on here…
first, the theme is improperly loading jquery ui
<script type=’text/javascript’ src=’http://www.midwestengineering.com/wp_mwe/wp-content/themes/innovative/js/jquery-ui-1.8.11.custom.min.js?ver=3.3.2′></script>
that will conflict with the jquery ui loaded by wp… not to mention its also an outdated version of jquery ui again that will conflict with the version shipped with wp…
also, something else, probably the theme, but could be a plugin, is incorrectly loading jquery

as per the codex article we referenced, you need to correct those incorrect js loading items…
you can find out if both are the theme by a quick switch to the wp default theme and see if stuff works…
if you can find where in the theme its doing it wrong, we can help you correct the loading to wp standards…
I will try to find it… I’m just not sure where to look? Any ideas?
It has my programmer stumped as well… I may have him post the next question if I can’t find the jquery calls… 
it wont be jquery calls… but usually just html output in the normally either the head.php or functions.php of the theme files… but could really be in any…
look for the string sequences mentioned above in any of the theme files…
I found wp_register_script(‘jquery’, (“http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js”), false, ”); in the functions.php file…
also found
