Hi

Are there any known conflicts of Simple:Press with other WordPress plugins?

I know of a conflict with an Event Calendar plugin where both plugins try and itilsie the same functiopn name.

There will be conflicts with any WP plugin that loads it's own copy of jQuery or the jQuery UI librraries and does not adhere to the WordPress API and standards.

What else did you have in mind?

I have installed Simple:Press and made a group and some forums

However, the forum page does not seem to use its theme.

I already changed the color scheme for the default theme a few times, but that doesn't help - the color change isn't saved either BTW although I did click on save.

Do you know what might be wrong?

I was thinking of a conflict with another plug in.

This is what the page looks like

Somehow that looks like it might have more to do with your WordPress theme defining some 'greedy' CSS. It would be worth - just as a test - switching to a different Wp theme (like the WP default one) just to find out quickly if that is the issue.

If it is not then a link to your forum page would help us as we can interrogate the CSS to see what is and what is not happening.

You appear to be minifying the CSS via some plugin. This isn't going to work, especially as the forum CSS may already, possibly, be minified depending upon your settings.

Can you exclude the forum page from this process?

I excluded the page from W3 minify.

Emptied all caches.

No change.

Then I switched off W3 minify altogether.

Emptied all caches.

No change either.

What is the next step?

Well - lets go back to basics. So -

  1. forum admin > themes - Make sure there is an 'overlay' selected. Re-save the selectiion.
  2. forum admin > toolbox > housekeeping - Run both the 'reset combined CSS cache' and 'reset combined script cache' tasks.
  3. forum admin > options > global settings - make sure (for now) that the 2 combined cached CSS and Script options are turned off over on the right hand side.

However - having said all that I just looked at your forum page again and I can tell you that the CSS file is not being loaded and that anything that is being loaded is still being done so from the minify plugin. Do you really find this helps?

Did all of the above.

Checked that minify was switched of.

Empties all caches

No change

You said: Do you really find this helps? I don't understand what you are referring to. Do you mean do I really find minify helps? I don't know. Never thought about it.

Anyway, what is the next step?

If you want to look at my setup yourself I can give you temp admin access.

Yes i can see it is off now.  I also see that no query variable is being passed to load the overlay file wghich is the one with the colours, borders, backgrounds etc. never seen taht happen before so I have yo assume it some odd server setting perhaps.

Csan you try downloading the CSS-Only theme, installing that in the forum-themes folder and activating that. let's see if the raw CSS theme works.
