Hey guys, i’m having a little bit of trouble trying to enable the private messaging feature.  I tried to go through components panel and enable it but the private messaging panel and other panels don’t exist.  Am I missing something?

I’ve tried it but it keeps telling me it failed because there are no valid plugins found.

where did you put it?  by default would be wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins

if that’s where, whats in that directory?  should be a bunch of directories, ie private-messaging

I tried to add it directly through the wordpress plugin upload from my desktop.  I put it in wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins as well.

Down load the Plugin unzip it, the result you will have a folder with the name of that plugin with a version number, open that file then you will see another file with the name of the plugin, this is the file that you need to place in your plugin folder. Think I got the wording right.

confused…

you cannot use the wp plugin uploader… its not a wp plugins… its an sp plugin…

if you download the private messaging plugin… unzip on your computer… the result will be a directory called private-messaging with bunch of files and subdirectories…  upload the entire private-messaging directory (and contents) to the sp-resources/forum-plugins directory…

go to forum – plugins – plugins list and activate…

if thats what you did, please check the ownership of the sp-resources directory on your server…
