Dear simple:press team,

http://www.bund-forum.de/?page_id=4

after a domain transfer to an actually more powerful hosting option; our performance dropped to abysmal levels - but only once you're logged in as any kind of user (not dependent on user role). As a guest; it loads pretty fast.

I've dabbled a little with pagespeed; but so far to no avail; and i'm not embarrassed to admit i have pretty much no idea what might cause this...

any help would be much appreciated!

best regards,

Ben

Dosenben, G'mornin from the states.

I was just looking at your site, seems to load pretty quick from here. Might want to go over to Pingdom and run a full page speed test. This way you can see the response time of different elements on your site.

Just a suggestion that has nothing to do with performance, go into your WordPress > Settings > Permalinks > and choose a different URL option. I use this structure: /%post_id%/%monthnum%/%postname%/

Best Wishes.

Can't read German, makes registration somewhat difficult. Email me a user id and password to fidosysop@gmail.com and i will poke around a bit.

Pingdom report looks pretty good as well.

wow again - thanks for the help here.
Just one thing to pick up on and that is that the permalink structure being used can have quite an impact on a site with a lot of pages. The default that you are using there is actually the fastest of course even if somewhat ugly and unhelpful. Some structures can be quite punishing on performance.

OK, It seems a little slower, but i would think acceptable, especially coming from Florida USA to your country.

Personally speaking from experience, I'm thinking your database is running slow. Is it possible for you to export your database and try hosting it elsewhere? I went that route once trying to diagnose a slow site hosted on #@%&* GoDaddy.com!

I did a screen video after being logged in and browsing a few pages, then logged out.

Hey Fido,

once again; thanks for your help; very much appreciated wink! I'll check out if we can use this solution - weird really; it almost takes 7 seconds for the complete forum view to show once i'm logged in. If logged out; it's completely fine...

I'm open for any kind of idea what else might be causing this.

best regards,

Ben

Lets try a little experiment.

Export your database as a text file and zip it up. Email it to me, I will import it into a database i have access to that allows external connections. I will then if successful doing the import, will email you back a db url, name and password.

Just change your wp-config.php details and see if it works, and if so, is it better or worse.

Sure worth a try.

I know you said at the top that see a lag for all users bit can you confirm that is definitely the case. is there no difference between an SP Admin and an ordinary member?

It is definitely somewhat lagging when i logged in. Takes a few seconds for the forum pages, after the header, to load fully. I didn't notice that before logging in. And i have never experienced that with multiple sp installs.
