Support Forum
Hi, I managed to download the Front End Dutch .mo file and place it in the right directory and I think 99% is now translated to Dutch in the forum. However the math question when registering shows in English. The words above it and below it are in Dutch (like 'username' > 'gebruikersnaam'). I checked the glotpress translations and the words of the math questions are translated to Dutch. Do you have an explanation?
The only strange thing I noticed is ... > Integration > Language Settings > Your WordPress site language setting has not been recognised by Simple:Press.
Hey Sjoerd,
Are you referring to this phrase?
If so by the look of it, it has been created but still has the status of 'Waiting'. I don't have much to do with the GlotPress side of things but I take that to mean it hasn't been approved by a validator.
It's my understanding that we can set you up as a validator so you can approve this phrase, and any others that come along if that would be of interest to you?
@Ike, no it is "Math required", "What is the sum of .... ". I tried a workaround yesterday ... installed the plugin Theme my Login (which makes pages for login, register etc.) and installed the Dutch language files of the plugin. End result is exactly the same. Most of the page is translated as should and only what I mentioned above is not translated as if the origin is not the plugin language file .... I already translated something there however if you need validators ... set me up (although I am not a certified translator!).
@yellow-swordfish , the language mentioned under wp admin > settings is "Nederlands" which is nl_NL.
The two strings of text you refer to are definitely in the current PO file for core SP (sp.po/sp.mo). So as Ike suggests, perhaps they have yet been validated. This is not something we can do as we do not have a Dutch speaker I am sorry to say. So we can upgrade your account to validator should you wish but I will need to know your login user name on the translation site (not the password as well)
The language code 'nl_NL' is not really correct - it should just be 'nl'. But I can see that when selecting Netherlands then WordPress does indeed use the bogus code so we will get that changed. If you want to make a small edit so that the admin language download panel recognises the code then I can walk you through the change.

I think they are validated because they are in green which means 'current'. However somebody also added an alternative translation that is in yellow (waiting). So I would expect the current translation to show up?
The file that works is: spDefault-nl_NL.mo I know for sure. However the size is 14kb and when I download a new Dutch .mo file it is 34kb and when I give it exactly the same name it does not translate the Forum language to Dutch anymore. So something strange there and I don't know for sure if I downloaded the 14 kb file directly from glotpress. So maybe something is broken?
What I do: Export all current to a .mo file and rename it to spDefault-nl_NL.mo
sfDefault.mo only covers text created by the SP theme. To cover the math text you need the core sp.mo file.
Why not edit the file /simple-press/admin/library/sp-language.php
Look down until you find the entry for 'nl' and change the wpCode in the middle of that line from 'nl' to 'nl_NL'. Save it and then you can try using the admin Integration > Languages panel. Oh - and use a plain text editor for this!
There are one or two minor outstanding issues on that language download admin panel but they should not affect you here and are fixed up for the next update soon.
