After upgrading to version 5.0.3 the date time now say's posted x days ago, x months ago, etc.  How, can we change this to go back to the way it used to be.  X months ago makes it seem much more stale and noticeable if posts are not frequent.

Thanks,

nothing has changed there in 5.0.3 (or 5.0.x for that matter)...  if applicable, it will still say x number secs, hours or days ago... just look here...

or do you mean from 4.x?

if you mean the latter, then just find the template tags outputting first and last posts in your various theme template files (and we strongly recommend making your own sp theme vs using one of our own http://codex.simple-press.com/.....g-a-theme/) and change the arguments to be

nicedate=0&date=1

and if you want the time

time=1

New bug:  Looks like seconds are always displaying as -121245 or a negative large number.  See this page for examples.  i have not changed anything on the templates except a couple images to try and reuse the version 4.0 icons. http://www.fantasyfootballxtre.....ykeeper/

Is it a bug? I love the way people throw that term around!

First up there there can be strange behaviour if users timezones are not set correctly - especially the 'server timezone' in wp > settings > general. Same applies to individual users timezones set on their profile.

But we have discovered - in fact only yesterday which I spent time working on - that it appears some plugins actively reset the WP server timezone setting and do not reset it back. This was discovered by a user who has the all in one event calendar plugin installed. We didn't expect this but now we know there are plugins that do this we will deal with it.

So - there is a big chance that this is what is happening on your site. But - you had indicated above that you were going to change the date/time display back to the traditional style and for those users with this sort of conflict that is the best policy until we get the update out.

WP timezone is set to New York.  Forums default timezone is set to 0.  I've tried changing the two and still have the seconds issue.  Ideally, should my Forum default timezone also be set to -5 for New York?

Thanks,

The default is what new users will get set to in their own profile when they first register. So setting that to New York also would be valid.

It is more likely that you are seeing the effect of a timezone reset as explained above. Which - in between forum posts here - is what I am working on currently to get sorted out.
