On the latest update I get the errors:
Notice: Undefined index: forum-images in /var/sites/m/members.raceadvisor.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/simple-press/sp-startup/site/sp-site-constants.php on line 61
Notice: Undefined index: forum-images in /var/sites/m/members.raceadvisor.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/simple-press/sp-startup/site/sp-site-constants.php on line 62
This prevents the forum from upgrading properly and I have now rolled back.
Any support appreciated.

If you are having problems updating then that would cause the notices although there is a bit of a chicken and egg thing here in that the update needs to create those folders but we need to check for them at startup. So the notices might sprong up anyway.
But - two notices like that wont stop the update so perhaps you could explain what is happening, what messages get shown etc...

The Wordpress update works fine but when I go to perform the upgrade I am told it can't continue because of the two errors on those files.

This has a workaround and also a reason for the problem. As woth the other user, we really do recommend you get this corrected,
