I have just installed simple press and have only one post in one category. When I click on the link to Browse Topics in the forum, it goes to a page not found page. http://nm-mcpa.org/forum-2/ It is the welcome forum where it is happening.

Nevermind - It was that stupid theme I was using again! I switched to a different theme for the forum page and it looks like things are working fine now.

hard for us to take a look... guests are not allowed to view your forum...
any reason why the wp page the forum is on is called forum-2? do you have any redirection plugins active? might be worth going to forum - integration- page and permalink and give the forum permalink and update...

That is the way the sp program set it up when I installed it. I think I might have had another page named forum at the time, but I have since deleted it. I have tried to go into the page and change the permalink, but it keeps reverting back to forum-2. If you have any suggestions on how to change it, I would be grateful.

If - when you edit the page in WordPress and change the permalink - it still saves it as 'forum-2' then that really does strongly suggest there is still either another page or another post called 'forum' somewhere.
You say you deleted the original page called 'forum' but is it still in the WordPress Trash? I am not sure but that would probably do it.
