Locked out of Profile?

I have a member who is able to login to the forum, view topics and posts but is unable to reply to any of them or to start a new post.  She sent me this photo of her profile icon.  I have not seen this before.  I checked on the backend forum menu and from what I can tell her profile seems to be fine.

She also says there is a lock icon showing up on all the unread posts that display at the bottom of the forum.  I have attached the photo of that as well.

I'm sure this must be a setting of some sort.  Can you help me, please?

Hey Jenn,

The profile icon is a strange one, it's actually the 'hide stats' button from the footer which makes no sense, and has no place in the profile.

Also I'm pretty sure the icon that should appear in the unread and recently updated list should just be an arrow, rather than the locked topic icon. I take it this user isn't actually locked out of these topics?

I'm guessing that the correct icons appear for you and other users?

The strange thing here is that it's only affecting one person. Could you ask them to try using a different browser to see if things show up as normal, just to rule out that possibility? And if that works they might need to clear their browser cache.

Hi Ike,

This forum user switched browsers and she said the icons went back to normal, but she still couldn't post.  When she tried to post on her iPad a day later she was able to (although previously for a few days wasn't able to).

I really think there is something askew with the forum on my site.  If you look at my other posts you will see that sporadically my user are having problems and weird things are happening.  Those problems seem to clear themselves over a day or two but they are big problems.  And of course I am usually not able to replicate them when I need/want to.

I am going to post another issue in just a moment.

Is there anyway for someone to take a look at my site and see if they can find out where the problem lies, even if there is an additional charge?

Thank you again!

We are always happy to take a look to see if we can spot anything although clearly it is easier with more definitive behaviour.

Make us an account to use. Then lease PM credentials to both myself, to 'Mr Papa' and to 'Ike'. Please include in the PM a link to your site, a link to this thread and brief reminder of the problem. And one of us will take a look for you.

If you feel we may need to look at the Admin side of the forum then you would need to make this account an SP Admin type user but it will not be necessary to make it a WP Administrator.

Np promises that we will be able to find anything but there is no harm in looking!
