Support Forum
Mr Papa
Your last reply caused me to test the following and derive the following questions which hopefully will shed light on this.
Test:
- Admins are properly redirected to the "Forum" page.
- I created your SimplePress "Admin" level access using WordPress "Users >> Add New" and then assigned you to the "Administrator" Role. This I created in wordpress and sent to you. I did not "Register" you thru the Forum and elevate you from subscriber to Administrator
- Members (Subscribers) are redirected to the "Home" page.
- These are created from "Forum" page "Register Button"
- When created and I check the wordpress "User Role", it is "Subscriber"
- Here is a sample Forum Member user access [ Login Name: Forum PW: !2Forum2! ] so that you can see the Home page redirect at the Subscriber Role
Questions:
- Is there need to create a "new user role" in wordpress to accommodate a new registrant (as a member) ? Does this have bearing in the improper redirect ?
- On the install there was a "Slug" issue and you changed the slug from "Forum" to "Forums" and this corrected the Forum page presentation issues. Does this have any possible bearing on the issue ?
I appreciate your persistence and patience in chasing down this problem.
Sincerely,
Joe Johnson
I still suspect wishlist then... please change its redirect for login to the forum page... simple press does not do any redirection differently for sp admins or not... if you had block admin enabled, which I verified you do not, then it could be different based on wp role...
on forum - options - member settings, you control where the default wp role (wp specified the wp role new users get) maps to an sp usergroup... but has not bearing on login redirects...
wp page slug also has no bearing on redirect... assuming you have the correct one, ie forums, listed in forum - components - login and registration...
