The register button is not really a redirect by default it sends one to the standard WP register page.
You can change the link on the register button by editing the spHead.php file and changing the line that starts with sp_RegisterButton.

For example

sp_RegisterButton('tagClass=spButton spRight&link=http://mysite.com/register', __sp('Register'), __sp('Register'));

Change mysite.com/register to where you want them to go.

The register link shown when the log-in box opens up may also need to be changed. You can change the link shown there or turn off the display of it entirely.
