Support Forum
Just seem to be having a bad day.
Now all the forum links are again redirecting to website homepage. Old problem, keeps cropping up now and then, usually gets fixed if I re-save the forum permalinks in wp integration option.
I am already balled...otherwise I would be pulling my hairs in despair! 🙂

The error logs show these errors since morning. Do they make any sense

Are you saying that something on your site changes the forum permalink? Or trashes it?
No. For no good reason, the forum starts redirecting all links to site home page.
I mean say the gereal forum links is shown as
http://problem-with-post-edit-.....iscussion/
You click on the link and you get redirected to the site homepage instead of going inside that forum
Here are my forums
http://problem-with-post-edit-.....com/forum/
Pls try to click on any forum name or post and u get redirected to home page.
This has happened many times so far. Usually gets resolved if I update the permalinks from wp-integration option in forum admin.
This time it aint helping.

Could really do with separate topics here but we can try and deal with both.
First - the redirection. So- do you have any redirection set up on the site? Any redirection plugins? Yoasts SEO plugin?
The errors are somewhat confusing. Looks to me that the 6:55 errors are all down to php failing to load files. It's easy to say this happens to us all from time to time but you can see form the messages that all the constants have not been loaded.
At the moment I am more concerned with the 5:27 errors because they are trying to access pre-V5 folders, folder names and locations. Do you have any idea why they would be trying to access the old 'simple-forum' folder used prior to V5?

No. No redirection plugin and No yoast or any seo plugin for that matter.
I tried deactivating all plugins and even that did not resolve the redirection issue.
I have tried to manually upload the latest release candidate and that hasn't helped either.
I don't know why the software keeps looking for icons in simple-press folder. It should have automatically got correct after running the upgrade from 4.5 to 5 but I guess it has stuck somewhere. Don't know beyond that. Also, I can change the path for the icon folder from the forum admin so that doesn't look a big concern.
What the other errors mean, I have no idea.

I am not sure the upgrader attempts to redefine that location since it could already be in use... could cause problems if we reassigned... but ticket is open to research...
and it wont be a problem if you are not using custom icons, I wouldnt think... are you using them?

No I don't use any custom icons.
Since the redirection issue was not resolving I have pulled down the forums for now.
Moving it to a subdomain using a fresh sp5 install and importing content.
