Support Forum
I thought I'd posted about this years ago, but couldn't find anything. I'll be posting many documents for our fire district as they become available and want to order them chronologically (meeting minutes, etc.)
Is there a way to manually reorder the topics as docs become available?
you cant manually order topics per se... you can sort newest to oldest or oldest to newest..
additionally, you can pin topics to the beginning of a forum... the pinned topics will remain in order pinned... so first at top, followed by next and so forth... you can also manually sort the pinned topics in a forum...

So I suppose I can pin them all.
Once you have more than one pinned topic a new forum tool is made available that allows you to determine the display order.
And since I can sort newest to oldest, can I change the post time?
By default - and unless you have specifically changed it - topics are always sorted newest to oldest. That really means the latest/newest post in a topic of course.
You can change the post time/date of a topic. You need to edit the very first post and use the option to make the change. But this will not currently effect the sorting order as they are sorted in post ID not the post Date. That is something we are looking at to see if it is worth changing.

Pinning is just what some forums call 'sticky'. Brings the topic or post to the top no matter what the sort order being imposed.
However - what I descried in post #4 - specifically applies to topics not posts within a topic. You can not currently re-order the actual posts in that way.
If we do make a change then, as is usual, major or important changes are mentioned in the blog post and all changes are noted in the change log.
