Well - as I say you can see if things change with the next update which does sort the positioning of the edit window.I wonder what percentage of pages accessed on the Internet are Simple:press based?
Extremely few. Not sure I understand the relevance of the question though. The figures just suggest that 4.77% of SP users probably use Safari.
there are also issues loading images on the iPad.
What are these? Unless you mean uploading as opposed to loading.
Yes, I meant uploading. Sorry.
When will the next update be available?
Just to satisfy my own curiosity, I loaded up a previous version of SP (5.6.0) without the new editing position fix to test the theory about the page finishing loading for myself.
As I suspected - I can replicate the editor window 'jump' if I try selecting text prior to the page loading finishing, But if I wait for the page to completely finish loading then the editor window remains totally stable. Ands this was a topic page showing 10 posts, 4 of which had an image in it. And it seemed to make no difference which post I loaded in edit mode.
So I am sorry to say I can not replicate the issue as you seem able to do under these ciscumstances.

I think we both posted at the same time there.
The problem with uploading is a mix of Safari and the plUpload library. There are many reports and a bug report is on file with the plUpload team.
As to our next update - it is planned to coincide with the next main WordPress update which is currently in beta 2.
