Hi

I performed an upgrade to the forum a few days ago. Since then I have had several people report to me that they are unable to post new topics because the maths test doesn't work. I've tested this and found the same problem. When I enter the correct amount the 'Do math to save' box does not light up - can't save.

Please advise.

well, we have had no other reports of such  behavior...  will run a few tests and report back as to general issue or not...

No, afraid its working just fine on a couple test sites...  so likely some sort of js issue on your site...

are you using the combined js cache?  if so, please try going to forum - toolbox - housekeeping and clearing the combined js cache and see if that helps...

Also, clear your browser cache...

a link to your site might help us see the js issue as well...

I've cleared cache as you suggested and re-tested - still got the problem. I can't see how it can be a cache problem though because this problem has been reported by 2 other people.

I didnt say cache issue - I said js issue...  clearing the js cache was a check that you did not have a stale js cache after the update since most javascript has been updated in last few releases...  and I asked if you were using the combined js cache (which you may not have been)...

two other people have reported this since 5.7 release?  where?

and your site is throwing js errors (you can see in browser console)...  the js errors stop other js from running - like the math js from updating the button to allow saving...

in this case, it looks like some js script called minit is messing up...  it appears to be trying to concatenate/minify js on the site... but it seems not working right...  alot of those type script struggle when js has already been minified and/or concatenated - like our scripts are...

is that new?  not sure how it could have worked before but certainly seen  stranger things... 😉

any way to disable temporarily and try again?  or tell if to ignore the forum scripts?
