Mentions plugin causes text TinyMCE to disappear and text edit box totally unusable

When I install and activate the Mentions plugin, the TinyMCE bar disappears, and I can't even get a cursor inside the text edit box to write a post or reply -- it's like a blank, white graphic, and when I click on it, nothing happens.

When I deactivate the plugin all works fine again.

I'm on 5.2.2, because (as I've posted elsewhere) the upgrade to 5.2.5 is not working (it says it's successfully upgraded, but in the plugins page it still says 5.2.2). Not sure if that's part of the problem..?

Thanks for your help,

Melissa

what version of tinymce?  mentions does not add anything to to tinymce...

can you do a manual upgrade of simple press?

we have heard that w3tc can interfere with sp updates... are you using that?  anything in the server error log?

trying to remember back as we had on other user that upgrades that seemed to apply but didnt... trying to remember the server issue that did that... will have to search...

TinyMCE version 2.0.5

I could certainly do a manual upgrade of simple press, but could you direct me to the page with instructions? I always find it hard to find…

Yes, I have w3tc. Tried deactivating to do upgrade, but didn't help. Went through steps suggested in another thread to look for errors, and found no errors in the errors tab of the errors console.

Thanks!

Melissa

well the same as for the main plugin (other topic) except you will be looking for the SP plugins folder which, by default, is under wp-content/sp-resources. Although you can check this in the SP plugin list admin page as it will tell you at the top where they are stored.

FYI, I succeeded in upgrading via FTP. I'm now running 5.2.6.

Thanks! :)
