Support Forum
Hey all,
So basically, I created a new topic in a forum. Then I also posted it as a blog post. The problem was that when I went to the front page and then clicked the "join the discussion" line at the bottom, it took me to the forums... but the message at the top of the page was "invalid database" and the message right under the forum list was "Access denied - you do not have permission to view this page." I went back and checked all the permissions, and there's no reason why I shouldn't have been able to see that topic page (even leaving aside the fact that I'm the admin!)
Now, I might have thought that it was just something connected to the process of starting a topic and then posting it as a blog post, EXCEPT... I started another test topic and didn't link it as a blog post. I then went back in through the forums through the front page. Exactly the same thing happened!!! This is NOT good. Does anybody know what might be going on? I really want to open the forums up this weekend!
Thanks,
Anise
what do you mean by created a forum topic... and THEN also posted it as blog post? that would normally be one action, so can you explain what you did?
what is the error message that generates the invalid database? you can see them on forum - toolbox - error log...
what do you mean by admin? wp admin or sp admin? not the same thing, though a user could be both..

I created a forum topic and picked the option to also create as a blog post. It did show up as a blog post. (Actually, I just tried it again with a test topic, and exactly the same things happened.)
I'm the only admin of anything on this page! So I think I'm every kind of admin there is... ?
Here are the two error messages that said "database," both from today. They're long... there's also mention of another one at the bottom; I didn't know if it might also have anything to do with it.

That's the end of the database error messages, but when I look in the error log, I can see that a couple of "php error" messages came up too. I don't know if those are relevant or not.
Thank you SO much for help and advice!! I kind of promised everyone on our FB group that the forums would be open by the weekend... never a good idea to give a specific date...

so what versions of Simple Press and the plupload plugin? looks like they might be mismatched...

That might not be good! Okay, here's what it says at the bottom of the page:
Simple:Press | Version 5.5.1
Now, on to the plugins folder...
Updated all the plugins...
IT WORKS!!! YAY!!!
Thanks infinitely,
