Support Forum
I have recently added simple press to a site I am building for a client, and for some reason there is no Register button showing next to the login button. Also the login button does nothing when you click it and the search does nothing. Am I missing something? Can anyone shed some light on this??
The site is still under development locally so I have put up a version of it on a spare url: http://www.webspite.co.uk/forum/
Thx in advance,
Simon.
have you enabled registrations on your wp site?? in wp - settings - general...
simple press is a plugin for wp and as such uses the wp users, login and registration system...

On the registration form front then yes it is but you will either need to code to the forms filters if you know how to do that or use a Wp plugin of which there are, I believe, quite a few.
If things are not opening then it usually denotes you have a script conflict as described and explained in this article: http://codex.simple-press.com/.....-conflict/
If you give me a link to your forum I can quickly tell you if this is the case if you are unable to follow the dircetions in the article.

Thx Swordfish, I will have a look for a plugin. Any you can recommend that play nice with simple press?
I will have a read of the codex - forum is here at the moment: http://www.webspite.co.uk/forum/
Appreciate the support, thx. Simon.
Wee one we always liked was called 'Register Plus' but there seems to be some doubt over it;s status at the moment although I believe a new developer has taken it over. 'Theme my Login' is another we have users using but I am not sure if that covers the registration form as well.
If you DO try one out, test it before you go too far as there are one or two we have come across that do NOT honour the WP API and send out the correct 'event' message when a user registers which means SP will not add them automatically to a user group etc. So run a test to ensure they get created as a forum member. Sorry - I can't remember the names of these at the moment.

Thanks again swordfish, I will have a good look around and test locally.
I was looking at some of the example sites that use simple press and this one: http://www.iamstaggered.com/ does exactly what I am trying to acheive with the login form, any ideas how they have acheived this?
Simon.
not sure I follow you... that is a standard login form.. both wp-login.php and the sp inline form... except for the logo at the top on the wp login form...
if you want the rpx 3rd party login stuff, you need to enable and configure it on forum - components - login and registration... use the popup help for info on setting up rxp (janrain)...
for the logo, dozens of wp plugins that allow that... I would suggest: http://wordpress.org/extend/pl.....ogin-logo/
